MILLING SERVICE With over 20
years experience, I can quickly mill your burl to obtain the best figure and
highest yield for an hourly fee. Fee depends on wood type.
Your wood is weighed before and after milling: cutoffs and blanks are boxed separately and returned to you. All blanks will be milled slightly over sized to allow a tolerance for drying, stabilizing and sand finishing: either by you or me. To get started contact me to discuss your specific milling needs. dried to 8% moisture content.
Difficult woods that require special preparation, sealants or treatment
will be priced on a case by case basis.
Stabilizing: We use the best known methods for stabilizing woods based on wood type. All woods will be fully impregnated. Dying is also available. Sand Finish: blanks are sanded flat and 90* square. Polished Finish: Includes 2 sides of block or 2 book matched scale faces. Most woods require pre stabilizing. |
